Dr. Jiangxue (Ashley) Han

Dr. Jiangxue (Ashley) Han is an Associate Professor of Public Relations at Appalachian State University. Her research focuses on health communication, with particular attention to how storytelling influences diverse audiences’ health perceptions and behaviors.
Her teaching interests include strategic communication, nonprofit consultation, and social media. She has received research funding from the Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication for her work on narrative persuasion and the effectiveness of entertainment education in communicating science and risks. Dr. Han is the recipient of the College of Fine and Applied Arts Outstanding Service Award (2023) and was named a Lillian Lodge Kopenhaver Fellow in 2021.
Through her service-learning courses, she regularly partners with nonprofit organizations to develop public relations campaigns that serve diverse stakeholders and advance organizational missions.
