Owner: The Women’s Fund of the Blue Ridge (“WFBR,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, EIN #26-1346239.

 

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the Site, donating, registering for an event, volunteering, or otherwise interacting with WFBR online, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

 

Who may use the Site

You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Site. If you use the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization.

 

Donations & tax receipts

• General. Contributions to WFBR are charitable donations to a U.S. 501(c)(3) and may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
   

• Receipts. We issue electronic receipts for online donations to the email address you provide.
   

• Recurring gifts. If you start a monthly or annual gift, you authorize recurring charges until you modify or cancel. You can change or cancel at any time by contacting us at (828) 264-4002 or info@womensfundoftheblueridge.org (please allow up to 3 business days to process).
   

• Designation. Unless otherwise noted, donations support WFBR’s grantmaking and programs. Restricted gifts will be used for the stated purpose; if a project is fully funded or becomes impracticable, WFBR may reallocate the funds to the nearest charitable purpose consistent with donor intent.
   

• Donor-advised funds & matches. DAF grants and employer matches are subject to the sponsoring organization’s rules. DAF grants generally cannot confer benefits of more than incidental value.
   

• Refunds. Donations are generally non-refundable. If a donation was made in error, please contact us within 30 days at info@womensfundoftheblueridge.org and we will review case-by-case. Event tickets/sponsorships follow the Event Terms below.
   

Event terms (tickets, registrations, FMV)

• Registration. Event registrations are first-come, first-served and may require payment.
   

• Transfers & cancellations. If you cannot attend, you may transfer a ticket to another guest by notifying us at least 48 hours in advance. Unless stated otherwise on the event page, tickets and sponsor fees are non-refundable.
   

• Benefits & fair-market value (FMV). If an event includes goods or services (e.g., meals), your acknowledgment will reflect the estimated FMV in accordance with IRS guidelines.
   

• Photo/video. By attending a WFBR event, you consent to being photographed or recorded and authorize WFBR to use your image, likeness, and voice for educational and promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be photographed, please tell a staff member at check-in and avoid camera areas.
   

Content & intellectual property

• Our content. The Site and all content (text, graphics, logos, photos, videos, and materials) are owned by or licensed to WFBR and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not use, copy, or distribute content without prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use with attribution.
   

• Your submissions. If you submit content (e.g., testimonials, photos), you grant WFBR a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display that content in connection with our mission. Do not submit content you do not own or that violates others’ rights.
   

Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) misuse the Site; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems; (c) post or transmit unlawful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or infringing content; (d) interfere with others’ use of the Site; or (e) use the Site to advertise or solicit without permission.

 

Third-party services & links

The Site may link to third-party sites or use third-party services (e.g., payment processors, ticketing). WFBR is not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party services is governed by their terms and privacy policies.

 

Privacy & data security

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information. We use commercially reasonable safeguards; however, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

 

Disclaimers

• General information only. The Site provides general information about our nonprofit mission and programs. It is not legal, medical, financial, or professional advice.
   

• No warranties. The Site is provided “as is” and “as available.” WFBR disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
   

 

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WFBR and its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from or related to your use of the Site or participation in events. In all cases, WFBR’s total liability shall not exceed $100 or the amount you paid to WFBR in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is greater.

 

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless WFBR and its representatives from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your misuse of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

 

Trademarks

“Women’s Fund of the Blue Ridge,” “Giving H.E.R Way,” and related marks and logos are trademarks or service marks of WFBR. You may not use our marks without prior written permission.

 

Changes to the Site or Terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue any aspect of the Site at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” above shows when these Terms were last revised. Your continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

 

Governing law & venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Watauga County, North Carolina, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
