Dr. Amy Dellinger Page

Dr. Amy Dellinger Page has been a full-time resident of Boone since 2004, when she joined
Appalachian State University. During her tenure, she served as Internship Supervisor,
Undergraduate Programs Director, and Department Chair. She currently serves as Executive
Director for Appalachian Senior Programs, which houses the Foster Grandparent Program and
the Senior Companion Program, funded through AmeriCorps Seniors.
Her research and teaching interests include gender, sexual violence prevention, sex offender
policy, and end-of-life doulas. She was an invited panelist on National Public Radio’s 1A to
discuss the relationship between toxic masculinity and mass shootings and she has presented
her end-of-life doula research to national and international audiences.
She is a recipient of the College of Arts and Sciences Jimmy Smith Outstanding Service Award
(2013), the W.H. Plemmons Leadership Medallion (2015-2016), and the College of Arts and
Sciences Excellence in Engagement Award (2021).
