Cathy Williamson

Cathy Williamson came to the High Country by way of Charlotte. While working in News and Production at WSOC-TV and Radio, Cathy met and married her husband, Bill. Together they left TV News behind to move onto a sailboat and cruise the East coast and Bahamas for a full year. In 1990, they bought Kilwins Ice Cream and Chocolate Shops and moved to Blowing Rock. Cathy and Bill raised their two sons in Blowing Rock.

Cathy was a volunteer at Blowing Rock School from 1996-2008, and served many years on the boards of the Blowing Rock Stage Company, and the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce. In 2007, Cathy became a founding member of the Women’s Fund and worked as the Public Relations and Publicity Chair, and Grants Committee member. Resigning in 2014 to care for her aging parents, Cathy returned to the Women’s Fund of the Blue Ridge in 2023 as an Advisory Board member.
